Foundations of Vinyasa with Michelle Dorer - 6 Week Series - 3 Ways to Participate - Recordings Included - Spring 2022

When:  Wednesdays - 6:00pm - 8:00pm - March 29 – May 3, 2022

Who: This 6-week series is designed for students who would like to learn about the origins of the Vinyasa method. 

What:  The word Vinyasa means “to place in a special way” and refers to a gradual approach with a step-by-step process that systematically and appropriately takes a student from one point and safely lands them at the next point.  This deliberate process is aligned with a specific breathing pattern.  Through this practice we learn to be conscious of the nuances of the posture and the transition from one posture to the next. 

The classical system of Vinyasa Yoga originates from the Ashtanga Yoga tradition.  In this system the student is taught a specific breathing pattern aligned with a sequence of postures that is coordinated with the use of bandhas (internal locks) and drishti (looking place). In this course we will do an in-depth study of the origins of the Vinyasa method by moving step-by-step through the Primary Series.  We will discuss and learn adaptations based on your individual body and needs, and healthy ways to practice the postures while incrementally increasing the amount of the sequence practiced weekly. By the end of the six week course, we will complete the entire series in a way that is accessible to each student. 

In addition, Michelle is offering two optional Mentoring Sessions as an add on feature! More details below.

  • Class Recordings - self paced with class recordings and available consultations.

Note, class recordings are available for all registered students!  Take the workshop at your own pace, get caught up on missed classes, and use the classroom material as a reference in the future.

Mentoring Sessions:

These sessions are designed to facilitate the students' growth. We will arrange two Zoom calls with an in-person option to gather for Q&A about the material. My goal is to help my students process their experience, and clarify anything we went over in the classroom. The sessions will be interwoven throughout the six weeks and scheduled based on group consensus of participating students.  Each session will be an hour and 15 minutes.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations made up to 10 days prior to the start of the Workshop will receive a refund minus any credit card fees already accrued.  No refunds will be given for cancellations made within 10 days of the start of the Workshop.  Workshop fee can be transferred to another offering.

Integrative Yoga with Michelle Dorer - 2 Ways to Participate - Monthly Workshop

When:  Sunday, April 2, 2023 - 10am-12pm

Who: Any student that wants to experience a holistic multi-level Yoga class that includes mind, body, and Spirit.  Open to students of all levels. 

What:  A holistic, integrated workshop combining ancient yoga teachings with transformative wellness tools. 

  • Breathwork and Meditation techniques to balance emotions, enhance focus, and expand self awareness for overall well-being.
  • Asana Practice and Refinement based on a neutral alignment of the body to develop strength, endurance, and flexibility. 

Students have 2 options to participate.

  • In person - for local students, location below.
  • Zoom - in your own home, from anywhere in the world.
